Thanks for pointing that our Mark. I just went an sat in the passenger side to see if I could see out of the driver side and with the mirror fully over, you can see something but that is not correct. So again, thanks for that, it saved me some money by not making a mistake. Most appreciated! Barry
Hi Mark, You have me confused now, Yes, I drive a right hand G. As long as the magnification part of the mirror was on the outside, I thought it would work. But now you have me thinking that instead of buying it private from someone in Europe, I need to purchase from someone in the U.K., or a Mercedes Dealer who in turn gets it from Germany. I am going to do some more reasearch on that.
I am buying a complete unit Mark, not the mirror glass on its own. Are you talking about just the mirror glass replacement?

Ah - just thought. Send a message to Gav. When I was looking he had a new passenger side mirror unit for sale. No good to me as I was looking for a driver's side one.

My story.
I have a 1991 RHD G300 SWB and the heated mirror on the driver's side stopped working. Rather than risk breaking the glass I decided to replace the whole unit. I bought both the mirors (complete units) from a LHD G Wagen thinking that the passenger side mirror would work on my driver's side.
But it didn't. Yes, it fits perfectly well mut the view you get is the side of the car even with the electrical adjustment as far out as it can be.
The mirror on the passenger side is set at a different angle to the mirror on the driver's side.
It's obvious when you think about it. Just sit in your passenger seat and look at the view in your passenger side mirror. That's pretty much what you get using a LHD passenger side mirror on the driver's side of a RHD car..

Thanks Nick. I did see that one, but it didn’t look to me in great shape. It will need to be repainted to my color code anyway, so i guess that doesnt matter. I will reconsider that one if I cannot find another one. Thanks. Barry

Thanks Mark, I will contact Gav. Cheers. Barry
Re: Left Hand Door Mirror
Not sure a LHD one will do (assuming that yous is a RHD version)
I tried using a passenger side LHD mirror in place of the driver side RHD mirror but the mirrors are set at different angles and it doesn't work.
